Television Peddles Anti-Dad Bias

Fathers used to be respected, both in real life and on television. A long-running sit-com called "Father Knows Best," starring Robert Young, was very popular in the 1950s. But then the radical feminists set out to demonize fathers, to make them at best irrelevant, and at worst a cad who deserves to be kicked around and insulted. They coined the epithet "Deadbeat Dads" to make people believe that divorced fathers are failing to do their duty in supporting their children.

Now a television network called Lifetime TV has sunk to a new low by planning to air a reality program called "Deadbeat Dads." It centers around a character who chases and confronts dads who do not pay child support. The "reality" show is out of touch with reality. The fact is that more than 90% of divorced fathers with joint custody paid the support that is due, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Most of the so-called deadbeat dads actually have no money. According to government statistics, two-thirds of men who fail to make child-support payments earn only poverty-level wages, and most of the others are unemployed. One prosecutor who was trying to score points with the feminists bragged that he "many times prosecuted impoverished fathers." These down-and-out fathers who have no money are often sent to debtors' prison and have their driver's license taken away as punishment, although it's obvious that such tactics cannot produce any income for father, mother or kids. Some of the dads who don't pay full child support are fathers whose ex-wife denies them the right to see their own children.

It's not likely that the TV series will be truthful about divorce and child custody because the feminists are so powerful in the media, but maybe you can protest to the sponsors of the program for airing unfair feminist propaganda.

I thought my son's situation was hopeless until I read this article. I immediately called him to let him know he is not the only one caught up in a terrible bias system against some men. His first wife divorced him with a default divorce that he knew nothing about. He is a over the road truck driver and then she got a judge order signed saying that he abaonded his 2 children that she would not let him talk to over the phone or see when he was in town from his job. She turned her phone off and got a new number and moved in with a boyfried and the judge allowed her to get this order without even knowing his side of the situation being away working. They live in Arizona and this situation is terrible. The court allows a parent to steal children from the other parent. He cant afford a lawyer to fight this that cost $3,000 retainer fee. He sleeps in his truck and don't have enough money to take her to court.

Is there any help out there that is free or affordable?

Please list any help you know of.

To the mom of the truck driver:

You're right-- your son is not alone.

Your son needs you and his father, his siblings and friends to get through this.

My advice to you-- be careful who you trust-- lawyers, judges, caseworkers, etc... they're all in it for themselves. Also during this time as you open up your heart you'll see who your true friends are so be careful with who you share your sorrows with as some glee in one's pain. Don't give out free information.

It helps for you to pray that your "daughter in law" gets some sense in her head as she's sold your son's marriage and family to those most interested in its destruction.

Ex-parte orders are questionable and I believe this can and should be challenged-- to what extent is up to you.

Look up glennsacks.com and see if there's a contact that can help you in your area.

I'm sorry your son is going through this and I know the effect it has on you and your family.

May God be with you always.

To the mom-- one last thing... try getting pro-bono or legal aid. Call the Arizona bar and they can help you.
