JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A proposal seeking a constitutional convention to allow states to repeal federal laws has divided some conservatives in the Missouri House.
But debate stalled on the measure this past week without reaching a vote.
Among those opposing it is conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, founder of the Eagle Forum.
Schlafly says it would be difficult to keep a constitutional convention limited to one topic, and the convention could result in many amendments conservatives would not like.
