Hostility to Traditional Marriage

The U.S. Constitution makes it a prime duty of the President to "take care that the laws be faithfully executed," and we all saw Obama, at his inauguration, swear an oath to uphold the laws of the United States. But apparently Obama thinks he can pick and choose which laws to enforce and which he can overturn. In February 2011, Obama instructed his Justice Department NOT to defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act (known as DOMA), which was overwhelmingly passed by Congress but is now under attack in the federal courts by homosexual activists trying to get supremacist judges to declare it unconstitutional. In July 2009, Obama extended federal benefits to same-sex partners of government employees, a clear violation of the federal Defense of Marriage Act. In September 2011, Obama, who is determined to defy the federal Defense of Marriage Act, ordered the Pentagon to authorize the performance of same-sex marriage ceremonies on military bases, violating traditional First Amendment rights that have always been accorded to military chaplains. And this year, to nobody's surprise, Obama announced that he now supports same-sex marriage.

Obama has consistently been pushing the Senate to ratify United Nations treaties that are hostile to religion, morality, and traditional families. One is the United Nations Treaty on Women, which would require us to "modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women," to follow UN dictates about "family education," to revise our textbooks to conform to feminist ideology, and ensure "the elimination of any stereotyped concept of the roles of men and women." Like all UN treaties, this one creates a monitoring commission of so-called "experts" to force compliance. The American people don't want any commission of foreign bureaucrats to dictate our laws or customs.
