Lets Give Thanks for American Blessings

In the Bible we read that the Lord said: "I've given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build; yet you live in them. I've given you vineyards and oliveyards that you did not plant; yet you eat of them. Now therefore serve the Lord." I think that passage from the Book of Joshua really describes the very special advantages that the Lord gave the United States of America -- a land of more freedom and more prosperity than enjoyed by any other country in the world. That's why Thanksgiving Day is the unique American feast day for which all our Presidents have issued a Proclamation, calling on us to thank Almighty God for the special blessings we enjoy.\

Thanksgiving is a day when we should resolve to do our part to maintain this great land of liberty, a high standard of living, and opportunity for all. Eagle Forum has accepted this challenge. We have built an organization of volunteers who give their time and talents and energy to maintain the freedoms and successes America has enjoyed. Our Eagle Forum members are willing to do this even in the political world because, among our blessings is our unique system of self government. In order to maintain our freedom, it is necessary for good people to be active in politics, working to elect good leaders, and lobbying for good policies.

The American National Anthem is the only national anthem that ends with a question: Oh say does that Star Spangled Banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? It the job of "we the people" to make sure the answer continues to be Yes.
