The Worst President Since World War II

Guess who is the worst president since World War II according to a highly respected pollster. Quinnipiac University has long been a leader in reliable polling of public opinion, and it released the result of its recent survey of American voters. There have been 12 presidents in the 69 years since World War II, and all of them were included in this poll. Americans picked the worst president of this group to be…Barack Obama. Americans view Obama as a failure in how he handles the economy, foreign policy, terrorism and health care. Americans disapprove of his job performance in almost every area.

Americans now consider Obama to be a worse president than George W. Bush, and worse even than Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon. On foreign policy, Obama received the very negative rating of 37 to 57 percent for his job performance. By a wide 53-40% margin, voters said they disapprove of the job that Obama is doing. More voters wish Obama had lost the last election than are glad that he won it. 33 percent of Americans placed Obama at rock bottom—the very worst—of all the post-World War II U.S. presidents.

On the bright side, Americans were also asked whom they feel was the best president in the last 69 years. Ronald Reagan won that vote by a landslide. He is rated by American voters to have been a far better president than all the Democrats. Reagan received more than twice as many votes for best president than John F. Kennedy. This poll also asked American voters which are the most important problems facing our nation. Nearly six times as many Americans thought that the economy was more important than foreign policy. Presidential candidates for 2016 would be well-advised to learn from this survey and recognize how important job issues are to average Americans.
