These children may have relatives among the islands’ Central American population. But somebody ought to ask the obvious question, why do they need a free plane ticket or housing when they arrive if they have local relatives? But it seems that nobody is asking that question. Meanwhile, the illegal kids are getting a free trip to Hawaii on our taxpayer’s dime. We probably all know plenty of American citizens who would like a vacation trip to beautiful Hawaii but can’t afford it. It’s bad enough to keep these minors in the country, but it’s ridiculous to send them across the Pacific on plane tickets to Hawaii that can cost upwards of $1,000.
None of these kids is supposed to be here in the first place. And let’s remember: as expensive as is a free trip to Hawaii, this is only the tip of the iceberg. The government will follow up with free legal assistance, free education, and free healthcare. We should have put them on buses and sent them back to their own parents as soon as they set foot in the U.S.A. That would be a move in the best interest of the child. But it looks like Obama’s plan is to bring in as many foreign-speaking aliens as possible.
