President Barack Obama addressed the issue of fatherless families in his Father’s Day address in 2008. He said, “Too many fathers are missing - missing from too many lives and too many homes . . . and the foundations of our families are weaker because of it.” Everyone knows that children are better off with mothers and fathers. Homosexual marriage removes the necessity of fathers from the marriage equation. Although there is no way to ensure that all children have both a mother and a father present, the government should do everything within its power to encourage it.
The forced acceptance of homosexual marriage in the Obergefell decision was one of the biggest attacks on the institution of the family in American history. The Supreme Court sent out the message that America no longer believes that marriage is about creating a stable living environment for children. Since then, conservatives from all around the country have been trying to find ways in their states and communities to fight back. We fight because we want the very best for all American children. Same-sex marriages are certainly not in the best interest of American children. We need to keep up the fight on every level to make sure that as many children as possible have everything they need to succeed in life, including a home with a mother and a father.
